Power System Must Remain Strong, Else Strict Action – DM
Jaunpur: On Friday night, after heavy storms and rain led to reports of several electric poles bending or at risk of falling in city areas, District Magistrate Dr. Dinesh Chandra immediately rushed to inspect the situation late at night, considering the upcoming Durga Puja and the crowd on the roads. He issued strict instructions that the entire electricity department team must work overnight to replace all dilapidated poles without delay, ensuring smooth power supply and preventing inconvenience to the public during the festival.
The DM emphasized that uninterrupted power supply and public safety are the responsibility of the district administration. He sternly warned that if any accident occurs in the future due to negligence of the electricity department, strict action will be taken against those responsible.
Expressing displeasure over the condition of the power infrastructure,
he directed officials to identify and immediately replace all bent and damaged poles through a special drive before the upcoming festivals. He stressed that any laxity in this regard will not be tolerated.
On this occasion, Chief Revenue Officer Ajay Ambasth, officials, and staff of the electricity department along with others were present.
