DM Inaugurates Photo Exhibition and Awareness Program
Jaunpur: As part of the Wildlife Week events, District Magistrate Dr. Dinesh Chandra inaugurated a photo exhibition and awareness program at the Van Bihar premises.
During the event, the DM emphasized that unless we maintain environmental balance, our lives cannot be fully safe and secure. The existence of wildlife, in one way or another, is directly or indirectly linked to human life. He stressed the need for large-scale tree plantation to maintain ecological balance.
Divisional Director Promila stated that the two-day program, held on October 8 and 9, features information about wildlife and the environment, including snakes, tigers, lions, leopards, wolves, crocodiles, birds, trees, and other environmental topics. The exhibition highlights the difference between leopards and fishing cats and provides safety precautions in case of snake bites.
For the first time, the Social Forestry Division organized a wildlife and nature photography competition. District Development Officer Meenakshi Devi, Deputy Commissioner of MGNREGA Sushil Kumar, Basic Education Officer Dr. Gorkhnath Patel, Sarfaraz Ahmed, and Hariom Srivastava were also present on the occasion.
