Jaunpur: The Communicable Disease Control and Dastak Campaign for October was inaugurated on Sunday by Chief Medical Officer Dr. Laxmi Singh at the District TB Hospital premises. The event began with an awareness pledge, slogans, and the flagging off of an awareness rally featuring promotional vehicles, banners, and posters.
The campaign will run across the district from October 5 to October 31, aiming to control vector-borne and infectious diseases through inter-departmental coordination. Preventive measures such as cleanliness drives, bush cutting, drainage maintenance, anti-larval chemical spraying, fogging, and public awareness activities will be carried out.
The Dastak Campaign will take place from October 11 to October 31, during which ASHA workers and Anganwadi workers will conduct door-to-door visits to raise awareness about vector-borne diseases, identify patients with fever, cold, or tuberculosis, and detect cases of malnutrition for necessary intervention.
Areas with high mosquito density will be marked for intensified anti-mosquito activities through departmental collaboration to prevent the spread of vector-borne diseases in the upcoming season.
Dr. Laxmi Singh urged the public to actively cooperate in the campaign to ensure its success.
