Under Mission Shakti 5.0, the event was inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor of Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University, Prof. Vandana Singh, along with Surendra Singh and District Magistrate Dr. Dinesh Chandra, by lighting the ceremonial lamp and cutting the ribbon.

The Chief Guest, Prof. Vandana Singh, purchased several Swadeshi items such as decorative articles, rugs, and sarees, encouraging local vendors to continue their entrepreneurial work. Students from the Basic Education Department also presented vibrant cultural performances during the programme.

In her address, the Vice Chancellor said, “The dream of the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister to make India developed and Uttar Pradesh strong by 2047 can only be realized through self-reliance and the use of locally produced goods. The Swadeshi Mela is a commendable initiative in this direction. It is inspiring to see a large number of women participating and showcasing their locally made products. The growing self-reliance of women is indeed a major achievement.”

On this occasion, the Vice Chancellor honoured several women, including Nafees Fatima and Priyanka, for their outstanding contributions in the field of women and child welfare, by presenting them with certificates of appreciation.
