Varinder Yadav Elected President, Radheshyam Singh General Secretary of Purvanchal University Employees’ Union
Jaunpur: Elections for the Employees’ Union of Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University were held on Monday amid a lively atmosphere across the university campus. After the counting of votes, Varinder Yadav was declared elected as President, while Radheshyam Singh Munna was elected General Secretary.
Polling for the employees’ union election was conducted from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., followed by vote counting and declaration of results. A total of 251 votes were cast for the post of President, of which 247 were found valid and five were declared invalid. Varinder Yadav secured 144 votes, defeating his nearest rival Dr. Swatantra Kumar, who received 102 votes.
In the contest for the post of General Secretary, Radheshyam Singh secured 93 votes and was declared elected. His opponents Jaislal and Rishi Raghuvanshi received 79 and 75 votes respectively, while four votes were declared invalid.
For the post of Vice President, Sushil Prajapati emerged victorious with 115 votes, while Dheeraj Srivastava received 74 votes and Hemant Dubey secured 56 votes. Six votes in this category were found invalid.
Candidates for the posts of Joint Secretary, Treasurer, and Executive Members were elected unopposed. Kailashnath Yadav and Doodhnath Yadav were elected Joint Secretaries, while Umashankar Yadav was elected Treasurer. Executive Members elected unopposed include Brijesh Singh, Dinesh Kumar Yadav, Manu Mishra, Vinod Gautam, Chhotelal Yadav, Vijay Yadav, Dr. Dilgir Hasan, Anil Singh (Finance), Anil Kumar Singh (Office), Pramod Vishwakarma, and Akhilesh Shukla.
Election Officer Professor Surjeet Yadav handed over certificates to all the newly elected office-bearers. To ensure smooth conduct of the election, adequate police personnel were deployed across the university campus.
